I'm sharing a proud parent moment. Yes, I know. She's only six years old; but when I was six, I wasn't studying any kind of discipline. I was carefree and running around the backyard, riding bikes around the neighborhood with my siblings and harmlessly picking weeds, or provincial flowers in Canada. Well, picking the provincial flowers wasn't harmless, it was a terrible idea. We got a good reprimanding from mom for that one.
Anyway, our daughter recently passed her first martial arts test. She had been working hard at it, practicing her forms and visiting her class more frequently. She knew her stuff but like any normal person, got nervous on testing day. She pouted and cowered behind Daddy and was on the brink of a meltdown. It was a situation that becomes difficult to come out of successfully. But then, Sifu Trevor said, "You can do this. I've seen you do it. Just get over it." And with those words, she left her Daddy's side and began her test. I snuck in and captured her working through her forms and kicking ass.
